Vasiliki (Betty) Charalampopoulou is a geologist, with a specialization on remote sensing, photogrammetry and GIS applications. In 1992, she graduated from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and since then, she has been working on research projects in the area of photogrammetry, Earth observation and geoinformatics. She is actively enrolled in projects by ESA, EARSC and the GEO. Since 2011, she is the CEO of Geosystems – Hellas S.A., providing consulting, solutions and services on GIS and WebGIS, photogrammetry and Earth observation applications. As CEO and President she has established methodologies and formulated strategies, gaining many distributions and collaborations. She has also I established several international collaborations with CNR, ESA, NASA, ISA, UNESCO, FIG, OGC, etc. and several international universities, local governments and industries, under the framework of collaborative H2020 and Interreg calls participation. In 2012, she the company R & D division and had Successful R & D projects under her supervision, with transferability to many industries and countries. She is also responsible for the distribution of roles and responsibilities in the company.
Evangelos Maltezos received his 5 year Diploma of Rural and Surveying Engineering in 2013 and his 4 year degree of Civil Engineering in 2006. He works for Geosystems Hellas S.A. (since 2015) and he is also Ph.D candidate at National Technical University of Athens, School of Rural and Surveying engineering, in the area of photogrammetry, remote sensing, image processing and computer vision. He is offering support and solutions in remote sensing and photogrammetry applications using ERDAS IMAGINE software solutions. He has deeply participated in several research projects such: 5dMuPLIS (completed), INDES-MUSA (completed), State-of-the-art mapping technologies for Public Work Studies and Environmental Impact Assessment Studies (completed), PEARLS (on going), SEN4RUS (on going), STABLE (on going) and ARTEMIS (on going). He has experience in the following fields: i) object detection and classification applying model-based and machine learning/deep learning techniques, ii) feature extraction, iii) segmentation, iv) shadow detection and removal, v) 3D reconstruction, vi) change detection, vii) SAR processing and viii) LIDAR processing. He is currently serve as a reviewer in high level international scientific journals and he has authored or co-authored more than 40 research and technical papers.
Christos Kontopoulos received his degree by the school of Rural & Surveying Engineering of the National and Technical University of Athens (NTUA). His main research interests and areas of specialization lie in the fields of remote sensing, photogrammetry and geospatial data analysis. He has been enrolled in several research projects and research teams, in the fields of remote sensing and geospatial data analysis while also presenting a great experience on photogrammetric, LIDAR data analyzing, cadastre and satellite data exploitation projects. Since September 2017, he has been working at Geosystems – Hellas S.A., as a remote sensing and photogrammetry specialist, dealing with the processing and the analysis of multispectral and hyperspectral optical data, UAV data as well as LIDAR and SAR data.
Sofia Fidani is an agronomist with specialization in food technology. She graduated from Democritus University of Thrace in 2012 and also holds an MSc in Sustainable Management of the Environment and Natural Resources (Direction: Sustainable Management of Mountainous Watersheds with Intelligent Information Systems and GIS) from the same university. Her field of expertise and main interests lie in geoinformatic applications. Since 2014 she has been working at Geosystems Hellas as a marketing/client manager and technical support operator in geoinformatics. She has participated in European research projects such as ACRITAS, NFOFRAS, INDES MUSA and is also the technical supervisor of the project SEN4RUS on behalf of Geosystems Hellas.
Kosta Alexandra is a civil engineer with specialization in Hydraulics and environmental engineering. She graduated from Aristotle university of Thessaloniki in 2017 and holds an MSc in «Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development» from the same university, in 2018. Her field of expertise and main interests lie in environmental protection. Since 2019, she has been working at Geosystems-Hellas S.A. while she is also participating “REmote SEnsing techniques for ARCHaeology” (RESEARCH) research project (Marie Skłodowska-Curie – RISE, Horizon-2020).
Ilias Georgiou holds a degree in Rural and Surveying Engineering and a MSc in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, University College London. His working experience started early on during his undergraduate studies, through his work on topography, photogrammetry and remote sensing at Geomet Ltd. During his military service (1997-1998), he worked as surveying and monitoring engineer at 80th Militia Battalion-Artillery Regiment and Head of the Topography Department at 80th Militia Battalion/4th GS/5. He also worked in geoinformatics companies such as Infotop S.A. (1999) and Z/I Imaging Ltd. (1999-2004) and since 2004 he has been self-employed. His main professional expertise lies in the design, organisation, implementation and management of geoinformatic projects. In particular, he has participated in a wide range of projects on picture editing, photogrammetry, ground/aviation sensors (LIDAR), remote sensing, spatial and non-spatial databases, GIS, geodesy, topography, sounding, management and processing of big geodata, and the preparation & evaluation of quality plans. Since 2010 he has been partnering with Geosystems Hellas as a mechanic in the field of geoinformatics, photogrammetry and remoting sensing. He has participated in the European research project 5DMUPLIS as well as in many commercial projects.
